Congratulations Grant Winners
Congratulations to Erin McKinney-Tipton, Rebecca Fox, Priscilla Dunn, and Renee Duncan
for being awarded grants from FBEMC Bright Ideas.
Erin’s title was “Cross Train Your Brain”, in which she will use Zumba in after-school to help stimulate student’s brains. Rebecca’s title was Project ALIVE; Accessing Literature Independently, Vigorously, and Enthusiastically. Rebecca also received the YCF Foundation Grant for this same project. Priscilla’s grant “Who Wrote the Book of Love” will be used to create a compassion book for each student in fifth grade. Renee’s title “Microorganisms in the Classroom” will be used to purchase microscopes for her 5th grade science classes.
BES wishes to thank students, parents, and the community for a successful fundraiser.
Monies raised will go a long way toward technology upgrades at our school!
Inside Scoop, Ice
Cream Shop below East Yancey Middle School has offered that anyone buying a large milkshake and mentions they are buying to support Burnsville Elementary School, the shop will donate $1 back to the school. Thanks Inside Scoop!
The Ice Cream Deck in Micaville has generously offered to sponsor a reward program for students meeting their reading goals each nine weeks. The Ice Cream Deck will give each student a free ice cream cone for reaching their reading goals. Mrs. Julia Fox will be giving the students who reach their goals a coupon at the end of the nine weeks.
